THE GREAT DEBATE 11/25/07

This week, we drink a ‘hoppy” beer. Two-Hearted Ale. Doug likes it again, while Nate and AJ are not so sure. Doug wonders if Nate and AJ are on the take from some company that makes a crappy beer (Berryweis?) We encourage you to join us “post-cast” and get involved in the dialogue, while we give major shouts out to Todd, Erika, and Dave. A little ol’ lady from somewhere in Alaska gets a very costly haircut.
This week’s topic is stem cell research…now that the controversy is over:IS the controversy over or will there still be a call for destroying human life?
This Week In History seems like it’s going to go the distance, but then gets water cramps and places 15th. Doug is convinced that Agatha Christie is Angela Lansbury. Go here for the proof http://myspace.com/thegreatdebate and click on the videos link. Also, all of these holiday’s are taking a backseat to Jolly Old St. Nick, when is Arbor Day going to get a little love?
AJ tells two jokes, both make Doug and Nate smile and/or laugh.

WARNING: This episode contains topics, discussions, and language that may be considered offensive by some. The rest of you are probably not whiny babies, so you’ll be ok.

The whole gang is back for this all out insult-fest. Our beer this week pleases three out of four, with Doug being the lone hold-out. Doug tells a story, which leads to a mini-debate on the war and those that protest it.
What is it to be offended in America? The “PCC” (Politically Correct Commission) is out there, but who are they, how do they choose what is offensive, and what do they want? Karli tells us that she doesn’t understand “being offended”…so Doug and Nate try their best to “educate” her on this difficult subject.
This Day in History is actually ok. Lots of great things happened. Really. Also AJ, in his most-quiet performance, waits until the almost end of the show to tell both a “fun” story and a very very very bad joke.

Due to the bizarre advertising requests of our sponsor, the location of the second commercial in this podcast is in the wrong spot. We apologize for the odd flow of the podcast that results.

Our longest cast yet!! But alas, length does not signify quality.
AJ brings a friend, and it turns out that Doug is not the only conservative in Wisconsin. It also means though that TGDWDAN needs to acquire another microphone. The new beer is roundly rejected, even by Carly. Both for it's taste and it social commentary factor.
The group discusses another crazy Iowan and his gun-toting dog. T-Shirts are promised and no doubt lied about. Shake throwing, changing your brakes, and stupid burger-clientele are discussed in the pursuit of the question "Is the customer always right?"
Nate continues his insult rampage.
"Isn't it time to stop drinking the kool-aid that China keeps serving us?" asks Doug.
"No." says Nate

This Day in History gets a little editing boost...but probably still sucks.

The most exciting part of this podcast is the reference to Dungeons and Dragons!!!!

November Fools!
Get ready for "Moose Drool"! Doug and Nate and AJ decide that debating is for the weak this week. Instead they let loose with an endless stream of slightly interesting stories and commentary. Do the homeless pee in the shower? Breast milk for $128 a gallon. Wedgie-proof undies. Killer dentists. If you dream you died, and you get shot in the head, will you wake up? And a guy from Israel put the Duggers (from our first show) to shame.
And, in a TGDWDAN first, Nate insults more often in one show than Doug.
